IP WE CAN CONTINUE WITH WIDER RANGE
QUESTION TO ASK:
1) WHO OPENED? THEIR RANGES?
2) WHO CALLED? THEIR RANGES?
3) EFFECTIVE STACKSIZES
4) WHERE ARE THE WEAK PLAYERS?
PLAN AHEAD FOR ALL POSSIBLE TURNS
-what cards we'll be raising, what cards we'll be folding to
WHEN FACING A BET
-Question to ask:
1) WHAT IS THEIR REALISTIC RANGE?
-bluff and weak value heavy: we can call wider and raising sometimes
-strong value: we cut out weakest pairs and draws
2)WHAT ARE THEIR BARRELING FREQUENCIES?
-doesn't barrel wide? flat flop wider (draws and pairs)
-barrel wide: float less + only call decent draws and value
CAN CALL STRONG DRAWS AND VALUE HANDS (2 PAIRS+)
-dont need to raise often-> TRAP
-we can control size of pot IP
WHEN CHECKED TO
vs weak players
-bet very wide: any draws (barrels) pairs and bluffs (barrels)
-weak players' checking range usually means weak therefore we can exploit them
-sometimes check strong hands to trap
vs better players
-bet lots of draws + good value hands
-check medium strength hands
-barrel with draws
BOARD TEXTURE
WET:
1) Bet or raise with good value hands
-many bluffs in our range therefore get action straightaway
-many action killer turn and river
2) Can float/raise or bet many draws
-position advantage + can represent many hands
-check behind medium strength hands and draws vs aggro and good players
DRY:
1) Call more with strong value hands
-less bluffs and we have position therefore TRAP
2) Can float wider
-players usually cbet very wide on dry boards
3) Bet very wide when checked to
-they'll check/fold very often
-can barrel vs their capped range
4) Check behind medium strength hands vs aggro + good players
-vs weaker players we can go thinner for value
97 on [943] 6way- checked to us
-we should check behind as we only have 1 street of value and we need to pot control
-don't want to play big pot with marginal hand on an overcard turn
