Playing Flop in 3Bet/4Bet Pot

AS PREFLOP 3BETTOR

-adjust our strategies to exploit different opponent types
-focus on their preflop actions, tendencies, positions, ranges and their range interaction on flop
-as 3bettor preflop, we usually use de-polarized betting range-> cbet almost 100% HU on any flop (1/3 sizing) especially on dry boards as we have equity advantage
-we use larger sizings vs calling station

EXPLOIT/ADJUSTMENTS AS 3BETTOR
-can include a checking range (vs aggro opponents) to induce bluffs

BOARD TEXTURE
WET board: we can check more
-how does the board interact with villain's range?
-some boards crush flat callers' range eg. AA on [9TJ]- we check as little fold equity
On WET board with SMALL stacksizes- we bet big on flop with good value hands to set up for turn shove

HAND STRENGTH
-lower our pair, more often we want to cbet for protection
-higher pair, we can checkback to pot control and protect our checking range

MULTIWAY
-use polarized range-> on cbet good top pair+ and good draws
-vs more opponents and wetter boards, we tighten our betting range

VS PLAYER TYPES
TIGHT/PASSIVE
-bet more polarized
-can still use 1/3 sizing
-have a checking range (medium hands)
-have a cbet bluffing range on dry boards
eg T9s on [Q35] with BDFD- we can bet 1/3
eg. 78s on [QK9] with no BDFD- we give up

LOOSE/PASSIVE
-bet mid good hands for thin value
-can bluff wider 1/3 sizing on dry boards
-use big sizings with strong hands n small sizings with bluffs vs calling station
-check medium strength hands
eg. AJs on [KJ4]-> fine to check or bet
eg. JJ on [K36]-> fine to check or bet

AGGROS//MANIACS
-bet polarized range
-keep pot small vs very aggro players
-include very strong hands in our checking range to induce bluffs + protect our range
-betting strongest value 3 streets

REGS
-bet de-polarized range 1/3 pot on dry boards
-eg. can mix in some checks with good/medium hands
eg. check back KK on [AT5]
-we need to check some Ax
-be prepared to call atleast one or 2 bets on turns and rivers
ON WET BOARD
-check mid strength hands (esp. vs aggro players) to keep pot small

AS CALLER OF 3BET

OOP: always check
-defend less hands than IP
-defend more on dry boards
-defend less on wet boards

VS PLAYER TYPES
LOOSE/TIGHT PASSIVE
-defend tight range on flop
-their 3bet range is very strong therefore we exploit them by overfolding
-with our strongest value, we can raise flop often and get it in
-only bluff with strongest draws + some fold equity as they have 0 bluffing range after 3bet

AGGROS/MANIACS
-defend flop wider vs their wide range
-call most made hands (any pairs) and draws
IP: float with good overcards and BDDs
-they're more prone to barrel therefore be prepared to call atleast one or 2 bets
OOP: can fold mid strength hands on wet boards
-just calling with strongest values on dry boards- protect our range and induce bluffs
FASTPLAY GOOD VALUE HANDS ON WET BOARDS

REGS
-calling most made hands + draws atleast once or twice
-they cbet flop with very high frequency
-expect barrels on turns very often
-give up vs triple barrels as it is usually underbluffed

PLAYING VS CHECK/RAISES AND RAISES OOP
-tighten up calling and re-raising range as we're playing vs stronger range
-some players might see 1/3 as weak and raises
-when multiway vs raise go very tight-> raise is usually 2pairs+
eg. AA on [J95] 4way and passive player raises-> we can herofold AA on flop

PLAYING IN 4BET POTS
AS PREFLOP 4BETTOR
-bet 100% of our range on flop (de-polarized range) with small sizings (1/4-1/3)
- be aware of middling board as they can have nutted hands
eg. [JT9] can mix in some checks as we never 4bet JJ, TT, 99, JTs, T9s therefore villain has more sets and two pairs
vs regs and tight players
-we can sometimes bluff multistreet but be very careful as not much fold equity
-need reads that they can fold
vs loose aggros and stations
-almost only value in multistreets as they do not know how to fold

AS PREFLOP CALLER VS 4BET
-villain's range is mainly nutted
-make many herofolds
-we expect many turns and river barrels
vs good regs/aggros/maniacs
-we can float once with mid-good value and draws as AK has 16 combos and it is often bet atleast once
-we can call down abit lighter vs aggros and maniacs
-still looking to make hero folds
vs tight/loose passive players
-make big folds right away on flop
-their range is way too strong + we need to make many herofolds vs them

BLUFFRAISING
-only super high equity draws as not enough fold equity

BOARD TEXTURE
WET: fastplay our strong range, strongest draws (with fold equity)\
DRY: call almost whole range esp. IP
-can fastplay best value sometimes when we know villain is never folding

ALWAYS THINK ABOUT YOUR RANGE
-are we raising our value hands here? if no do not raise with bluffs

ALWAYS LOOK AT PLAYER TYPES, TENDENCIES, STACKSIZES AND PLAY THE MOST PROFITABLE LINES

WHAT TURNS ARE BAD FOR US?
-some turns might kill our actions therefore we fastplay right away

vs AGGRO OPPONENTS ON DRY BOARDS-> MOSTLY JUST CALL
-ON WET BOARDS WE FASTPLAY

WHEN PLAYING AGAINST MANIAC, THINK ABOUT RAW EQUITY
-if opponent has enough bluff raises we can float wider

LOOK AT THEIR WHOLE RANGE-> MANY BLUFFS = WE CAN JAM PROFITABLY

GOOD EXPLOIT VS TIGHT PASSIVE PLAYERS
-checkback flop with middle hands and fold to large turn bets

VS LOOSE AGGROS, LOOK FOR CHECK/RAISES WITH OUR STRONG BLUFFS

IF OPPONENT IS VERY BLUFFY/SPEWY PREFLOP-> we continue with most top pairs and second pairs vs barrels and play for stacks.
