MAIN CONCEPTS
-THE DEEPER THE STACKS, THE MORE IP HAS ADVANTAGE
-tighten up slightly from early positions
PREFLOP ADJUSTMENTS
-hand selection is very important
-> good pocket pairs, Axs and suited broadways which has high implied odds
-> value goes down for offsuit hands and weak suited connectors
-these hands are dominated too often therefore should just fold preflop
-> defend BB tighter when DEEP
-> less 4 bet and 5betting preflop when deep
- get it in range 300bb+ is mostly KK+ therefore we rather flat the whole range
-however we can exploit by shoving AA to stack KK
PREFLOP IP
-isolate weaker players fairly loose when playing deep
-flat wider range when IP
-can call more 3bets when IP
-more implied odds + can defend more vs small sizings
-however still only use high suited ranges and good pairs
PREFLOP OOP
-use bigger sizings with 4bets (4.5-6x)
-reduce SPR and high benefit from winning pot preflop
-vs 3bet we continue very strong range with high implied odds (OOP)
-> PPs, good SCs, suited broadways and suited Ax
-> avoid lowest suited connectors and offsuited broadways
-> can call more hands to a 4bet when 200bb+ deep
FLOP PLAY
(Aggressor)
OOP-> keep pot small with marginal holdings (check/calling)
-also include some strong holdings in our check call range
eg. AA on [784]ss OOP vs reg
-hard to get 3 streets of .value so we check/call flop
-all flushes and straight outs favor IP player a lot
IP -> widen bluffing range and leverage stack size on future street
-exploit weaker players by sizing up for max value with our value hands
(Caller)
OOP -> playing defensively and keeping pot small
IP -> can float and raise wider when deep
eg. QTs on [J63] BDFD vs wide cbet
-we can often raise here as we can continue on lots of turn (deep stacked)
TURN PLAY
-can utilize overbets often
-apply max pressure to opponent with value and bluffs
-look for spots where turn improves our range
eg. BU vs CO as 3bettor on [J22][Q]
- we can overbet here with value hands (AA, KK)
+ add bluffs (AK, T9s, ATs)
-we can use 2/3 sizings with QQ as it blocks their Qx calling range
eg. UTG+2 vs BB [J94][3]
-turn is brick and villain wil check/raise flop often with 2 pairs or sets
-we still have all overpairs and sets
-good spot here to overbet with strong Jx and bluffs
RIVER PLAY
ALWAYS LOOK FOR THIN VALUE BETS
-careful in multiway pots vs many players
-LEARN TO BET/FOLD FOR MAX VALUE
OVERBET WITH GOOD VALUE ARE KEY
eg. 55 on [Q57][T][2] vs station
- we can shove river as they never fold Qx and rarely bluff
-vs regs we can add some bluffs
eg. AA on [862][3][3] vs regs
-triple barrel and river shove
-our range is 88 or air therefore opponent will hero call often
-here we can use some backdoor clubs as bluffs
WHEN FACING TRIPLE BARREL
-often very strong especially when pot is huge on river
-overbets are especially strong
-vs regs/fish we still need to call down at good frequencies
-pay attention to their showdown hands
-how wide is their value range?
-> very narrow? often he will overbluffing
aggro fish especially can be overbluffing a lot
-> value range very wide? give them credit
WHEN FACING RIVER RAISE WE CAN MAKE HERO FOLDS OFTEN
(even more underbluffed when deepstacked)
