PREFLOP
1) What player type raised?
2) What player types are behind?
3) What player types are in the blinds?
4) What are their stack sizes?
Always think in terms of their range -> which position did they open/flat from?
Our Adjustments vs Different Player Types
1) Good regs
-play GTO with good bluffing/value frequency
2) Loose aggro
-never bluff them
-defend 3bet wider
-check to induce bluffs when draws missed
-use overbets vs calling station
3) Loose passive
-go mainly for value
-make hero fold often vs them
4) Tight passive
-make hero fold vs them VERY OFTEN
-tighten up vs their open raise
-raise very strong hands straight away vs their aggression
5) ABC/Semi regs
-we can bluff vs this player type
6) Maniac/whale
-widen our value range
-never bluff them
-use big sizings with value hands
-go for VALUE VALUE VALUE
FLOP
1) What are their ranges?
-if they have wider range we go thinner for value
2) How many streets of value do I have?
-1 or 2 max, we check the flop
3) How many opponents are in the pot?
-vs multiple-> we bet polarized range, HU- we bet depolarized range
4) Board texture
-the wetter the board, the more polarized we bet
5) vs which player types?
-adjust accordingly to different player types
Facing checks IP
-we bet very wide as their checking range is very weak
Facing a bet
1) What is their range?
-lots of bluffs or value heavy?
2) What are their barreling frequencies?
-if they barrel a lot-> just call with strong hands
TURN
1) How did the turn hit each player's range?
2) Continue betting with strongest value hands and strongest bluffs
3) Think about what certain player types would do with certain hands
-eg. tight passive bet the flop and bet the turn on a paired turn -> he will likely not have trips as he would've checked the flop with the middle pair
4) vs Weaker player when they check/raise the turn on a middle pair card
-> always fold as they have no bluffing range there at all
5) "Is villain good enough to turn flush draws and straight draws into a bluff?"
-If no-> vs their check raise we always fold
6) vs aggro players -> we include very strong hands in our checking range in order to check/shove as they will never fold top pairs
RIVER
1) Board interaction and runouts
-if many draws completed - we pot control
2) Number of opponents
-bet tighter vs multiple opponents
3) Opponent tendencies and player types
-vs different player types we use different sizings and betting ranges
4) Opponent's line and action
-lots of checking = weak line
-lots of betting esp. on flop and turn = strong line
5) Our realistic range
-more bluffs in our range = bigger sizing we can go
BLUFFING
* Is our opponent capable of folding value hands?*
- if no -> never bluff vs them (loose aggro, whales and loose passives)

Tips for Playing Rivers
vs a whale
-we want to bet small with our value hands on very dry boards for them to call wide
-vs small bets on the river, we should always raise our top pairs thin for value as they will always bet big with their strong hands
vs loose passive
-if he leads turn and river-> he usually does not have a flush draw or any draws as they will play those passively-> we can overfold when draws missed
vs semi-reg
-we should go for thin value with our low 1 card fullhouse when we think he might have a flush or some strong holdings-> we bet fold for max value
EVEN IF AN OVER CARD HIT ON OUR POCKET PAIR -> THINK ABOUT VILLAIN'S RANGE-> they will not hit that card nearly enough therefore we can keep betting
LEARN TO GO FOR SMALL THIN VALUE BETS VS WHALE (do not go too big) to get max value from a very wide range on the river
vs reg
-when the turn hits their range we should check and evaluate on the river
-> vs a river bet ALWAYS THINK IN TERMS OF THEIR RANGE
"we might have top 2 pairs but he still has trips and straights in his range" therefore we fold
ALWAYS THINK OF THEIR RANGE
-we can sometimes profitably bet overpair even when the flush hits the river as they still have many top pair hands that may call therefore we go for thin value and fold vs a raise
"villain still has enough worse hands to call for it to be a profitable bet"
vs tight passive
-when the flush hits on the river -> we can always make a hero fold with our sets as they are never bluffing
When villain bets small on flop after 3betting -> we can float with our gutshots and backdoor hamds unless if he bets big we fold
-> if they 3bet and check the turn-> their range is very capped therefore we can profitably bet the river as a bluff
vs loose aggro players
-we should check/call with our middling hands in order to induce bluffs
->esp. on low boards when we have small pocket pairs-> shouldn't bet as they will fold
vs good regs
-if they double barrel into 2 people and check the river
WE NEVER BLUFF
-they bet the turn into 2 callers mean they have a very strong range + they check the river to induce some bluffs
vs loose players
-we do not want to bluff them on the river as they will always call light
ALWAYS THINK ABOUT THEIR WHOLE RANGE
-"if we want to keep betting our value range here we should also bet our bluffs"
-"the turn may complete 97s when villain called from BB, but he may also have weak middle pairs, weak top pairs and other draws that might fold to a bet threfore we want to keep betting with our gutshots"
-we want to bet our bluffs the same way we bet our value hands vs regs
on dry boards
-when we check raise vs semi-reg and they call
-> we should be very careful as they will usually fold all their bluffs to a raise therefore their range is very narrow- WE STOP BLUFFING
vs good regs when we check/raise and barrel the turn
-> if they still call we want to shut down all our bluffs on the river
When both regs check behind on flop -> we can lead turn with all our draws as their range is fairly capped
-> when the flush hits the river we can bet as a bluff as we have many flush draws and he does not when he check back the flop
IF WHALE LIMPS- ALWAYS ISO RAISE ATLEAST 6BB WITH VALUE HANDS
vs ABC regs
-we can triple barrel bluff as they know how to fold
When we flop nut flush draw
-> we can lead vs loose passive
-> when we block the nut flush draw-> we should always lead the river with our value hands rather than checking to induce bluff as it is more likely they do not have many draws
WHEN PASSIVE PLAYER RAISE ON THE RIVER
-> FOLD 100% OF OUR RANGE EXCEPT THE NUTS
When we have an overpair and the turn is another top pair-> we can play tighter and even fold the river to a big bet as their range consists of many trips
When a reg check back the flop- we can discount all overpairs, flush draws and good top pairs as they will bet the flop with all those hands
-> when he bets the river after the flushdraw hits, we can discount any flush in his range and make hero calls often
When playing vs good players
-we always have to consider what the turn is
-if it brings any backdoors possibility we have to take that into consideration when he bets the turn
-we always call down a bit lighter vs regs as their range is fairly balanced
vs tight passive players
-always overfold even top pairs with low kickers-> they are never bluffing
When we hit 2 pair on a 1 card straight board
-> if we think villain's range consists of many over pairs
-we can lead out small to get value from overpairs but not too big
vs a whale
->we do not bluff the river even if we have no showdown value -> they never fold
ALWAYS THINK IN TERMS OF THEIR RANGES
When loose passive player checks a lot-> we assume we have the best hand when all draws missed
vs bad aggressive player-> we should check river to induce bluff when their draws missed
vs a whale -> always bet for max value with our top pairs on the river to get value from their wide range
-> do not be scared of scary turns and rivers
-we want to bet small with our value hands on very dry boards for them to call wide

General Tips on Playing the Turn
On very low wet boards-> villain's check back range is usually very weak
-we can exploit them by betting very wide on the turn
Sometimes it is more profitable to slowplay very strong hands vs very aggro opponents even when the board is fairly draw heavy-> let them hang themself
All middling type hands should be in our check/call range on the turn
*Always think about what different player types would do with certain hands*
eg. loose passive bets flop on [K5T] and turn is [T]
-he most likely do not have a T as he is passive and will check back Tx on the flop
Loose passive players check call a lot of hands but they do not bet a lot of hands -> can narrow down their range when they bet quite significantly
When betting turn
-does villain have enough hands that will fold the turn in his flop calling range?
-how much equity do we have when we're called?
Vs weaker players when they check/raise the turn on a middle pair card
-ALWAYS FOLD AS THEY HAVE NO BLUFFING RANGE HERE
-is villain good enough to turn a flush draw/straight draws into a bluff?
-> if NO we always fold vs their check/raise
vs whale and loose passive we can always call wider than usual
-they have a very wide betting range (all pairs, draws)
-think about the whale's leading range and the other players' calling range
vs whale leading the turn
-we almost always just call with our value hands and call any river to a bet
-their range is usually way too wide to have enough value for us to fold our value hands
vs tight passive player donks
-we always assume they have a very strong range-> we overfold very often
ALWAYS THINK ABOUT VILLAIN'S RANGE
-when they have a polarized range we usually have to call with our middling hands
vs a reg
-think "would we bluff on this turn card?"
->if YES- we should call with our hand as it is possible our opponent is bluffing
ALWAYS THINK...
WHAT ARE THEIR RANGES?
WHAT PLAYER TYPES ARE WE PLAYING AGAINST?
HOW DO WE EXPLOIT THOSE PLAYER TYPES?
vs very aggro opponents
-we should check very strong hands on the turn to check/shove as they'll most likely call with worse top pairs and all draws
-when we have a very strong draw on the turn and we think he has many bluffs in his range -> we should check/shove to protect our equity vs their bluffs-> if we get called we still have a lot of equity + we have TONS of fold equity
vs passive players
-we always overfold when they check/raise as they have very few bluffs
Slowplaying rather than raising on the turn may be effective when playing vs a whale and loose aggro players as we keep in their bluffs + they may shove river with many worse hands
When drawing to the nuts-> we can justify calling the turn with many opponents even if it is only a gutshot-> we have tons of implied odds
When we have many strong hands in our flop calling range -> we can raise the turn with our weak pair as a bluff (ONLY IF VILLAIN KNOWS HOW TO FOLD)
When we have an over pair on a flush and straight draw board -> we can raise the turn vs a lead from weaker players in order to get value from their top pairs and charge the draws he is betting
vs loose aggro players
-we have to know villain has a very wide range therefore we can go thinner for value
eg a set on a draw completed board when villain 3bet pre
-> he will always call with his overpairs + a pair and flush draws

Bluff Catching Theory
1) DO WE BEAT SOME OF THEIR VALUE RANGE?
-player dependent-> look at their actions preflop to postflop
-"how thin do they go for value?"
-"are they making random bets?"
-IF CLOSE -> MAKE THE HERO CALL
2) PLAYER TYPES
vs MANIACS/AGGROS/FISH
-lots of bad aggression and random bets
-look for tilts + egos
-we assign them high ratio of bluffs and value hands
CALL THEM DOWN LIGHTER
vs LOOSE PASSIVE
-usually just betting their hand and not their range
-very rarely bluffing multistreet/ big pots
-GIVE THEM CREDIT BUT WE CAN SOMETIMES BEAT SOME OF THEIR VALUE HANDS
vs TIGHT PASSIVE
-always have what they're repping
HAVE A VALUE HEAVY RANGE
NO NEED TO BLUFF CATCH AT ALL
vs REGS/SEMI-REGS
-very balanced and not many random holdings
MORE SKEWED TO VALUE HEAVY RANGE
3) ABILITY TO GET TO SHOWDOWN
-if we think we won't get to showdown -> we can fold right away when facing flop/turn bets
-IP and small sizings we can float much wider
-depends on players types + different board textures
WET BOARDS
-harder to get to showdown
-tighter betting range on flop -> they have many strong hands + draws
HERE WE CAN FOLD OUR MEDIUM VALUE HANDS RIGHT AWAY
eg. KT on [JT8]-> lots of bad turn cards so we fold right away vs aggression
DRY BOARD
-easier to get to showdown
-wider betting range on flop + not many draws and strong hands possible
-harder for opponent to improve on many turns so we can float wider
eg. 99 on [TT5] 3way -> they can be betting a 5 or weaker pocket pairs so we can float
eg. KJ on [K64] very dry therefore easier to get to showdown
vs WEAKER/PASSIVE PLAYERS
-easier to get to showdown -> often bluffing once with wide range and give up
-here we can float wider
vs MANIACS/AGGROS
-harder to get to showdown
-wider range -> we float wider but prepare to call down more often
-if runout doesnt improve their range we may have to call down
vs REGS
-can expect reasonable barreling
-think about their actions + most obvious bluffs + draws and value hands
eg. they raised UTG we defend BB, they will cbet 100% of their range on the flop
vs TIGHT PASSIVE
-usually hard to get to showdown
-preflop and cbetting range is very tight and value heavy
4) RANGE COMPOSITION
-what player type?
-what position?
-what are the actions preflop and postflop?
-narrow down their range on all streets
HOW WIDE IS THEIR VALUE RANGE ON TURN/RIVER?
-very wide? we do not need to bluff catch at all
eg. [JTQ][4][6] vs triple barrel -> they have very strong range therefore no point bluff catching
-very narrow? we can bluff catch more often
eg. [TT3][2][3] vs triple barrel
-> here opponent is repping either a T or nothing -> we can hero call more often
5) BOARD TEXTURE/RUNOUTS
-how wide their bluffing range is on turns and rivers?
-> if many draws improved, their value/bluff ratio is high therefore we can not bluff catch often
eg. [3JT][4][A]
-KQ and AJ improved therefore we don't want to call down light in this spot
eg. [8T4][Q] flush complete vs double barrel
-he could have a flush. J9 or QT so we cannot call down light
IF MANY DRAWS BRICKED...
their bluffing ratio may be high therefore we can bluffcatch more
eg. [9Q3][4] 2 FD
->his flop cbet has gutshots, BDFD and FD therefore we still want to call with the same frequencies as the flop
eg. [T8K][5][3] - FD missed vs aggro barreler
-> the straight draw missed, FD missed therefore we can bluffcatch here
6) TABLE FORMATION
-what position is he raising from?
-how many players are in the pot?
IF BETTOR IS IP-> HE HAS MORE BLUFF IN HIS RANGE
IF BETTOR IS OOP -> HE HAS LESS BLUFFS
SAME FOR RAISES AND CHECK/RAISES
-if he check/raises with many players behind-> very strong range
-if he check/raises HU IP-> could have some bluffs
7) OPPONENTS' LINE
UNDERBLUFFED LINES:
a) Multistreet aggresion
eg. OOP triple barrel
eg. 3bet, bet, bet IP
b) River raises
-> almost always nutted -> make massive hero folds often
c) Turn check/raise non all-in with money behind
8) OUR PERCEIVED RANGE
-is opponent good enough to factor in our perceived range?
WHEN OUR PERCEIVED RANGE IS STRONG = BLUFF CATCH LESS
-players will bluff us less + we have stronger hands to call down in this spot
eg. [A56][6][T] - here we have tons of Ax and they have little fold equity-> they will not bluff this run out
-> here we can easily lay down our pocket pairs and weak Ax
eg. IP on [JT3][6][9] flush completing river
-> after we called twice we can have KQ and flushes that improved therefore they will not be bluffing in this spot very wide
WHEN PLAYING VS CALLING STATION -> HE EXPECTS YOU TO CALL WIDE
-we can make hero folds more often
WHEN OUR PERCEIVED RANGE IS WEAK/CAPPED = WE HERO CALL MORE
-players will look to attack our weak range
eg. 98 OOP on [924][3][Q] vs aggro barreler
-> if aggro player bets big on an overcard-> they are usually bluffing
IF YOUR RANGE IS CAPPED AND YOU'RE PLAYING VS AN AGGRO PLAYER, YOU HAVE TO MAKE SOME HERO CALLS IN THE RIGHT SPOTS
9) SIZINGS
BIGGER SIZING = STRENGTH IN GENERAL
OVERBETS = VALUE -> make hero folds
SMALL BETS OFTEN THIN VALUE -> RANDOM BETS (3rd, 4th pair)

Playing Deep (200bb+)
MAIN CONCEPTS
-THE DEEPER THE STACKS, THE MORE IP HAS ADVANTAGE
-tighten up slightly from early positions
PREFLOP ADJUSTMENTS
-hand selection is very important
-> good pocket pairs, Axs and suited broadways which has high implied odds
-> value goes down for offsuit hands and weak suited connectors
-these hands are dominated too often therefore should just fold preflop
-> defend BB tighter when DEEP
-> less 4 bet and 5betting preflop when deep
- get it in range 300bb+ is mostly KK+ therefore we rather flat the whole range
-however we can exploit by shoving AA to stack KK
PREFLOP IP
-isolate weaker players fairly loose when playing deep
-flat wider range when IP
-can call more 3bets when IP
-more implied odds + can defend more vs small sizings
-however still only use high suited ranges and good pairs
PREFLOP OOP
-use bigger sizings with 4bets (4.5-6x)
-reduce SPR and high benefit from winning pot preflop
-vs 3bet we continue very strong range with high implied odds (OOP)
-> PPs, good SCs, suited broadways and suited Ax
-> avoid lowest suited connectors and offsuited broadways
-> can call more hands to a 4bet when 200bb+ deep
FLOP PLAY
(Aggressor)
OOP-> keep pot small with marginal holdings (check/calling)
-also include some strong holdings in our check call range
eg. AA on [784]ss OOP vs reg
-hard to get 3 streets of .value so we check/call flop
-all flushes and straight outs favor IP player a lot
IP -> widen bluffing range and leverage stack size on future street
-exploit weaker players by sizing up for max value with our value hands
(Caller)
OOP -> playing defensively and keeping pot small
IP -> can float and raise wider when deep
eg. QTs on [J63] BDFD vs wide cbet
-we can often raise here as we can continue on lots of turn (deep stacked)
TURN PLAY
-can utilize overbets often
-apply max pressure to opponent with value and bluffs
-look for spots where turn improves our range
eg. BU vs CO as 3bettor on [J22][Q]
- we can overbet here with value hands (AA, KK)
+ add bluffs (AK, T9s, ATs)
-we can use 2/3 sizings with QQ as it blocks their Qx calling range
eg. UTG+2 vs BB [J94][3]
-turn is brick and villain wil check/raise flop often with 2 pairs or sets
-we still have all overpairs and sets
-good spot here to overbet with strong Jx and bluffs
RIVER PLAY
ALWAYS LOOK FOR THIN VALUE BETS
-careful in multiway pots vs many players
-LEARN TO BET/FOLD FOR MAX VALUE
OVERBET WITH GOOD VALUE ARE KEY
eg. 55 on [Q57][T][2] vs station
- we can shove river as they never fold Qx and rarely bluff
-vs regs we can add some bluffs
eg. AA on [862][3][3] vs regs
-triple barrel and river shove
-our range is 88 or air therefore opponent will hero call often
-here we can use some backdoor clubs as bluffs
WHEN FACING TRIPLE BARREL
-often very strong especially when pot is huge on river
-overbets are especially strong
-vs regs/fish we still need to call down at good frequencies
-pay attention to their showdown hands
-how wide is their value range?
-> very narrow? often he will overbluffing
aggro fish especially can be overbluffing a lot
-> value range very wide? give them credit
WHEN FACING RIVER RAISE WE CAN MAKE HERO FOLDS OFTEN
(even more underbluffed when deepstacked)
-THE DEEPER THE STACKS, THE MORE IP HAS ADVANTAGE
-tighten up slightly from early positions
PREFLOP ADJUSTMENTS

eg. UTG+2 vs BB [J94][3]
-turn is brick and villain wil check/raise flop often with 2 pairs or sets
-we still have all overpairs and sets
-good spot here to overbet with strong Jx and bluffs
RIVER PLAY
ALWAYS LOOK FOR THIN VALUE BETS
-careful in multiway pots vs many players
-LEARN TO BET/FOLD FOR MAX VALUE
OVERBET WITH GOOD VALUE ARE KEY
eg. 55 on [Q57][T][2] vs station
- we can shove river as they never fold Qx and rarely bluff
-vs regs we can add some bluffs
eg. AA on [862][3][3] vs regs
-triple barrel and river shove
-our range is 88 or air therefore opponent will hero call often
-here we can use some backdoor clubs as bluffs
WHEN FACING TRIPLE BARREL
-often very strong especially when pot is huge on river
-overbets are especially strong
-vs regs/fish we still need to call down at good frequencies
-pay attention to their showdown hands
-how wide is their value range?
-> very narrow? often he will overbluffing
aggro fish especially can be overbluffing a lot
-> value range very wide? give them credit
WHEN FACING RIVER RAISE WE CAN MAKE HERO FOLDS OFTEN
(even more underbluffed when deepstacked)
Multiway + Limped Pots
MULTIWAY
(Aggressor)
-betting very strong range
-only betting good value hands + strongest bluffs
"how many streets of value do I have?"
1 or 2: check top pair often
-big sizings with our strongest range especially vs fish/ stations
-very big sizings on wet boards
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DRAWS HIT= MORE COMBOS MULTIWAY
(Caller)
-tight continuing range vs strong range
eg. someone raise preflop and bet into 6 people on flop- VERY STRONG RANGE
-we want to call when we have clean outs and backdoor draws
-avoid marginal and obvious draws-> lots of reverse implied odds
eg. A8 on [9TJ]
-we want to check raise strong value and strongest bluffs
-fast play strong hands on wet boards -> use very big sizings
eg. 99 on [94J] ditone- use very big sizings
VERY VERY TIGHT CALL DOWN RANGES VS MULTIPLE BARRELS
LIMPED POTS
-lead out with 2 pairs or sets on dry boards vs passive players as check/raising on dry boards look very strong and could lose value
eg. 25 on [K25]-> we lead big
-we also lead out with our flopped straights, flushes
-we sometimes lead strongest draws vs many players
-but we fold our marginal baby draws multiway as someone can have higher flush draws
-we can include some check raise with good draws and strong value on wet boards vs aggro players
eg. 55 on [58T] 7way-> we can raise very big
(Aggressor)
-betting very strong range

Draws: Odds
1) FLOPPED FLUSHDRAWS = 34%
eg. we have to call all in on flop 200 to a pot of 500
-here we get 2.5 to 1 therefore flush draw is enough
FOR EACH STREET- ABOUT 19% TO HIT
EASY TRICK
Equity% = no. of outs x 2 (to hit on 1 street)
Equity% = no. of outs x 4 (to hit on 2 streets)
2) OPEN ENDER/ DOUBLE GUTTERS
-Odds to hit by river = 31.5%
-17% on each street
3) GUTSHOTS
-odds to hit by river = 17%
-8.5% each street-> round to 10%
HOWEVER, SOME OUTS ARE NOT CLEAN THEREFORE WE NEED TO REDUCE OUR OUTS + EQUITY
IMPLIED ODDS
-IP = more implied odds
-drawing vs strong range/aggro players = more implied odds
-drawing in multiway pots = more implied odds
HOWEVER- THERE ARE REVERSE IMPLIED ODDS
-eg we can fold weak flush draws 7 way
-drawing to obvious draws = worse implied odds
eg. K5s on [674]
-drawing vs passive players = worse implied odds
-drawing on paired boards = worse implied odds
eg. we have to call all in on flop 200 to a pot of 500

Playing Draws/ Bluffs
LOOK AT OPPONENTS' TENDENCIES
-IF HE ONLY BETS VALUE HANDS ON FLOP AND NO BLUFFS
=> WE CAN OVERFOLD WHEN HE BETS
Basic rule: bet/continue hands with highest equity
ONLY BLUFF IS OPPONENT KNOWS HOW TO FOLD
BLUFF-RAISING MORE OFTEN WHEN OOP
-especially vs aggro players
-we can get max value with our strong value hands
-bluff with hands that have some good equity and backdoors
IP: we can float more
-we can raise more often when IP both for value and as bluffs
(NEVER BLUFF VS FISH/CALLING STATION)
FLOP
WHEN FACING BETS:
-target boards which hit our range
eg. BB vs MP1 [456] -> we can bluff raise profitably if he bets too wide
FACING CHECKS:
-start betting very wide as their checking range is often very weak
-even if they call we can bomb the turn to put pressure on weak pocket pairs (ONLY IF THEY KNOW HOW TO FOLD A POCKET PAIR)
TURN
-want to only bluff hands with high equity
eg. QJs on [T83][8] BDFD
- we have many 8x therefore we can check/raise the turn or lead
(ONLY VS PLAYER WHO KNOWS HOW TO FOLD)
eg. 78s on [452][K] vs aggro barreler
-aggro players will bluff very wide on K turn therefore we can check/raise with our draws and gutshots as they are betting very wide
RIVER
-only bluff when we block their best value hands + NOT blocking any draws
eg. T8dd on [827][2][6] vs tight MP raiser
-we block 88, straights therefore we can check/raise shove (only vs players who can fold)
SIZINGS
-population bets strength on hands
-vs smaller sizings= we can bluff more
-vs bigger sizings= we bluff less as their range is polarized

Playing Rivers
TAKE TIME WITH DECISIONS
-consider all factors leading to the river
-what does our range look like?
-what does our opponent's range look like?
-consider stacksizes and pot size always
BETTING FOR VALUE
-how thin can we go?
*learn to bet/fold river for MAX VALUE*
"Can I beat 50% of his calling range?"- if yes then BET FOR VALUE
CONSIDER:
1) Board interactions/ runouts
Dry runout
-can bet wider for value
eg. AT on [52T][7][3] -easy triple barrel
Many draws and overcards complete
-value range narrows
-checking very often: including some strong hands
eg. TT oop 3way on [JT3][2][A]sss-> we check river as KQ completes and flush comes in
2) Number of opponents
-HU we can widen our value range
-multiway we tighten up
3) Opponents' tendencies
-start with assumption they'll call too wide
-vs tilted players we can go wide and big
-vs loose passives/aggros/maniacs- we go wide and big for value
-vs tight passive: narrower range
-vs regs: depends on their range + tendencies
4) Opponent's line/action
WEAK LINE (bet thinner for value)
a) check/call flop, check/call turn especially on wet boards
*they usually check/raise flop or turn with strong value*
b) check/call flop, check turn and check river
-we can go wider for value here
c) bet flop OOP, check turn and check river
-if he has a strong hand, he'll lead turn or river
d) bet flop IP, check brick turn
STRONG LINE (cannot go thin for value)
a) bet flop, bet turn and check dangerous river
eg. [JT4][3][7]sss -> he usually will check/call his strong hands
b) bet flop, bet turn and check brick river when draws missed
-villain could be trying to induce bluffs
5) Our Range
-mainly focus on our perceived range
-what is our image?
-tight? cannot go as thin
-aggro? can go thinner
-what actions did we take?
-when our range is very strong, we cannot go as thin for value
-when our range is very weak, we can go thinner for value as they'll often make herocalls vs us
CHECKING TO INDUCE
-after betting twice with good value...
vs weak/fish we want to keep betting on good rivers for value
vs aggros we can check to induce traps
-we check when lots of draws missed and we don't block their draws
-we block their value range
eg. JT on [J5T][6][3] vs aggro player
-on river, the flush missed so we check to induce bluffs
BETTING AS BLUFF
-estimate our value range and pick best bluffs-> more value in our range = more bluffs we can include
MAIN FACTORS:
1) Do we need to bluff?
-does our hand have enough showdown value?
2) Opponent's tendencies/types
-we only bluff people who knows how to fold: good regs, semi regs and tight players
3) Number of opponents
-vs many opponents, we're very selective with our bluffs
4) Previous action and board runouts
-we see villain's lines and play accordingly
-does the run out give us value? If yes: we can widen our bluffs and put pressure on dangerous run outs eg. T9s on [784][K][8]sss- we can bet river to represent the flush
5) Our range (perceived and actual)
-always adjust vs stations we only have value hands
6) Hand type
-hands that block their value and not their missed draws
-we use pairs and backdoor draws to bluff
WE ONLY BLUFF IF HE IS CAPABLE OF FOLDING PAIRS
eg. QJs [AK2][7][4] with BDFD
-we can triple barrel bluff as we block AQ, AJ
-we use hands at the bottom of our range to bluff
SIZINGS
-try to go AS BIG AS POSSIBLE with our value hands
vs weaker ranges: smaller sizings + wider value
vs stronger ranges: larger sizings + narrower value
eg. 77 on [K7Q][3][5] vs tight passive after he called flop + turn
-he'll often have KQ and AK therefore we can overbet on river for value
MORE BLUFFS IN OUR RANGE = BIGGER SIZINGS WITH OUR VALUES/BLUFFS
OUR RANGE: BALANCED
eg. we bet 30 combos full pot on river
-villain gets 2 to 1 therefore need to beat 33% of our range
-here, balanced range means we have 10 combos of bluffs and 20 combos of value
if opponent thinks we bluff alot
-skew our range to value and use big sizings
if opponent think we never bluff
-we size down with value and include more bluffs
if they think our line is weak
-skew to value and big sizings
ALWAYS THINK ABOUT WHAT OUR RANGE LOOKS LIKE TO OUR OPPONENT AND ADJUST
CONSIDER BLUFFING
1) Estimate of his range strength
2) Our perceived range strength
3) His calling tendencies- how often he'll call
SOMETIMES WE DO NOT BLUFF AT ALL
eg. if we think our opponent will call our pot sized bet 60-70% of the time, no point in bluffing!
eg. if we think opponent will fold to 1/2 pot bet 50% of the time, we can bluff our entire range
FACING BET ON THE RIVER
*ALWAYS TRY TO ESTIMATE OPPONENT'S RANGE
-start from preflop, flop and turn actions
-include random hands for weak players
-we want to block value range and unblock draws
eg. QT on [KT3][6][9]ss bet/check/bet
-we block QJ and KQ T9, KT and don't block any draws therefore its a good call
-HOW WIDE ARE THEY GOING FOR VALUE/BLUFFS?
-consider player types, board runout, number of players and position
IS OPPONENT CAPABLE OF BLUFFING OFTEN?
-many players will bet flop and give up
-many will double barrel but not many will triple barrel bluff
-we should have a tight call down range vs strong line especially vs randoms
-with more players they'll bluff even less
WHERE ARE WE IN OUR RANGE?
-do we have many better hands to call?
eg. opponent bet full pot we can fold 50% of our range
-however vs tight players we can fold our entire range
HERO FOLD > HERO CALL
-if we're in the gray zone, just make the fold and move on!
CONSIDER RAISING RIVER
-we need to be beating 50% of his calling range
-lots of money to be made for thin river raises
Estimate opponents' range strength
-tendencies
-actions
-board runouts
-number of players
-our range
BLUFF RAISING RIVER
-very selective range and target ONLY PLAYERS WHO CAN FOLD
-effective vs good/competent players
-only do it when we don't block any of his bluffing range (draws)
-want to be blocking his value range
eg. AsJc on 3 spades board- we can bluff with A of spades
eg. K9s on [KJ3][8][7]
-here we block [KK], [T9] therefore we can make a bluff raise on the river
-consider all factors leading to the river
-what does our range look like?
-what does our opponent's range look like?
-consider stacksizes and pot size always

Playing Turns
AS AGGRESSOR
-how did turn card hit each players' ranges-continue to bet with good value hands and strongest bluffs
-THE STRONGER OUR PERCEIVED RANGE= the more bluffs we could add in our range
-THE WEAKER THEIR RANGE= the more bluffs we could add
OOP:
-bet strong value + draws to prevent check through
-include check/raises with strong values + bluffs vs aggro/regs
-check/calling strong medium value hands (eg. top pair with mid kicker)
-check/folding weak draws + weak pairs
IP:
-bet strong value + draws
-use overcards/ strong perceived range as a bluff
-check back to realise equity if we dont have fold equity (pot control + trap)
MULTIWAY:
-betting range is narrower as less fold equity esp. on wet boards
FACING A TURN RAISE:
-almost always strong hands on both dry and wet boards esp. multiway
-we include bet/folding the weaker part of our range
WHEN BETTING TURN ALWAYS THINK AHEAD TO WHICH RIVERS WE'LL KEEP BETTING ON AND WHICH WE WILL SHUT DOWN
SIZINGS
-when we bet small flop-> usually bet bigger turn
-depends on betting range, board texture and opponent
-if we bet most hands = small sizings
-vs weaker range = small sizings
-much stronger range = larger sizings
-vs call happy players= larger sizings
-dry boards= small sizings
-draw heavy boards= larger sizings
-vs multiple opponents= larger sizings
AS CALLER
-what range is he barreling?-look at preflop and flop actions-> conduct a range
OOP:
-check/calling better parts of our value range eg. top pairs and very strong second pairs
-vs aggro and good players, defend a bit wider
-be prepared to call down triple barrels on certain turns + rivers
-check/calling with best draws and check/fold with weak draws
-check/raising very good value and strongest bluffs (sometimes)-> make sure they know how to fold
-continue check/calling often with strong value hands on dry boards (TRAP)
IP:
-call better parts of our range but wider
-what type of players are betting? adjust to tendencies
-eg. wetboard and aggro player betting = can have many draws still
-calling with most draws IP as more opportunity to bluff rivers
-often just calling very strong hands on dry boards
-raising very polarized range on turn
ALWAYS THINK ABOUT BOARD TEXTURE, PLAYER TYPES AND POSITIONS
-does villain know how to fold?
-when they check twice, usually doesnt have made hands therefore can exploit them later
WHEN CHECKED TO:
-bet all draws + value hands
-often very weak when they check turns-> be prepared to barrel river also
-check back medium hands on dry boards
MULTIWAY
-turn barreler have very strong range
-continue with very strong value range
-be aware of draws with reverse implied odds (low flushdraws, lower end of straights)
-when checked to: bet with best draws + value
WHEN FLOP IS CHECKED THROUGH:
[AS CALLER OOP]
-lead all gutters+ and lots of value
vs multiple opponents
-tighten up our range- only bet good draws + value
-after leading turn, be prepared to barrel many rivers except on [A]
[IP]
-vs turn leads, call most medium hands + draws HU
-villain often have unbalanced checking range on flop therefore less value for him
-tighten up considerably if original raiser is betting into many players
-vs turn checks, we now bet very wide with value and bluffs
-checking twice usually means weak -> no draws or value
therefore, we follow through on many rivers especially if draws complete
-vs multiple opponents, tighten up but still bet when checked twice
WHEN FLOP IS CHECKED THROUGH:
[AS AGGRESSOR OOP]
-bet our value hands for 2 streets (dont trap)
-bet middle type hands for 1 street
-leading many draws as villain checkback range is very weak
-exploiting weak ranges
[AS AGGRESSOR IP]
-going for thin value when checked to
-very wide with value + bluffs
-be prepared to barrel rivers especially if draws completed

Playing Flop in 3Bet/4Bet Pot
AS PREFLOP 3BETTOR
-adjust our strategies to exploit different opponent types-focus on their preflop actions, tendencies, positions, ranges and their range interaction on flop
-as 3bettor preflop, we usually use de-polarized betting range-> cbet almost 100% HU on any flop (1/3 sizing) especially on dry boards as we have equity advantage
-we use larger sizings vs calling station
EXPLOIT/ADJUSTMENTS AS 3BETTOR
-can include a checking range (vs aggro opponents) to induce bluffs
BOARD TEXTURE
WET board: we can check more
-how does the board interact with villain's range?
-some boards crush flat callers' range eg. AA on [9TJ]- we check as little fold equity
On WET board with SMALL stacksizes- we bet big on flop with good value hands to set up for turn shove
HAND STRENGTH
-lower our pair, more often we want to cbet for protection
-higher pair, we can checkback to pot control and protect our checking range
MULTIWAY
-use polarized range-> on cbet good top pair+ and good draws
-vs more opponents and wetter boards, we tighten our betting range
VS PLAYER TYPES
TIGHT/PASSIVE
-bet more polarized
-can still use 1/3 sizing
-have a checking range (medium hands)
-have a cbet bluffing range on dry boards
eg T9s on [Q35] with BDFD- we can bet 1/3
eg. 78s on [QK9] with no BDFD- we give up
LOOSE/PASSIVE
-bet mid good hands for thin value
-can bluff wider 1/3 sizing on dry boards
-use big sizings with strong hands n small sizings with bluffs vs calling station
-check medium strength hands
eg. AJs on [KJ4]-> fine to check or bet
eg. JJ on [K36]-> fine to check or bet
AGGROS//MANIACS
-bet polarized range
-keep pot small vs very aggro players
-include very strong hands in our checking range to induce bluffs + protect our range
-betting strongest value 3 streets
REGS
-bet de-polarized range 1/3 pot on dry boards
-eg. can mix in some checks with good/medium hands
eg. check back KK on [AT5]
-we need to check some Ax
-be prepared to call atleast one or 2 bets on turns and rivers
ON WET BOARD
-check mid strength hands (esp. vs aggro players) to keep pot small
AS CALLER OF 3BET
OOP: always check-defend less hands than IP
-defend more on dry boards
-defend less on wet boards
VS PLAYER TYPES
LOOSE/TIGHT PASSIVE
-defend tight range on flop
-their 3bet range is very strong therefore we exploit them by overfolding
-with our strongest value, we can raise flop often and get it in
-only bluff with strongest draws + some fold equity as they have 0 bluffing range after 3bet
AGGROS/MANIACS
-defend flop wider vs their wide range
-call most made hands (any pairs) and draws
IP: float with good overcards and BDDs
-they're more prone to barrel therefore be prepared to call atleast one or 2 bets
OOP: can fold mid strength hands on wet boards
-just calling with strongest values on dry boards- protect our range and induce bluffs
FASTPLAY GOOD VALUE HANDS ON WET BOARDS
REGS
-calling most made hands + draws atleast once or twice
-they cbet flop with very high frequency
-expect barrels on turns very often
-give up vs triple barrels as it is usually underbluffed
PLAYING VS CHECK/RAISES AND RAISES OOP
-tighten up calling and re-raising range as we're playing vs stronger range
-some players might see 1/3 as weak and raises
-when multiway vs raise go very tight-> raise is usually 2pairs+
eg. AA on [J95] 4way and passive player raises-> we can herofold AA on flop
PLAYING IN 4BET POTS
AS PREFLOP 4BETTOR
-bet 100% of our range on flop (de-polarized range) with small sizings (1/4-1/3)
- be aware of middling board as they can have nutted hands
eg. [JT9] can mix in some checks as we never 4bet JJ, TT, 99, JTs, T9s therefore villain has more sets and two pairs
vs regs and tight players
-we can sometimes bluff multistreet but be very careful as not much fold equity
-need reads that they can fold
vs loose aggros and stations
-almost only value in multistreets as they do not know how to fold
AS PREFLOP CALLER VS 4BET
-villain's range is mainly nutted
-make many herofolds
-we expect many turns and river barrels
vs good regs/aggros/maniacs
-we can float once with mid-good value and draws as AK has 16 combos and it is often bet atleast once
-we can call down abit lighter vs aggros and maniacs
-still looking to make hero folds
vs tight/loose passive players
-make big folds right away on flop
-their range is way too strong + we need to make many herofolds vs them
BLUFFRAISING
-only super high equity draws as not enough fold equity
BOARD TEXTURE
WET: fastplay our strong range, strongest draws (with fold equity)\
DRY: call almost whole range esp. IP
-can fastplay best value sometimes when we know villain is never folding
ALWAYS THINK ABOUT YOUR RANGE
-are we raising our value hands here? if no do not raise with bluffs
ALWAYS LOOK AT PLAYER TYPES, TENDENCIES, STACKSIZES AND PLAY THE MOST PROFITABLE LINES
WHAT TURNS ARE BAD FOR US?
-some turns might kill our actions therefore we fastplay right away
vs AGGRO OPPONENTS ON DRY BOARDS-> MOSTLY JUST CALL
-ON WET BOARDS WE FASTPLAY
WHEN PLAYING AGAINST MANIAC, THINK ABOUT RAW EQUITY
-if opponent has enough bluff raises we can float wider
LOOK AT THEIR WHOLE RANGE-> MANY BLUFFS = WE CAN JAM PROFITABLY
GOOD EXPLOIT VS TIGHT PASSIVE PLAYERS
-checkback flop with middle hands and fold to large turn bets
VS LOOSE AGGROS, LOOK FOR CHECK/RAISES WITH OUR STRONG BLUFFS
IF OPPONENT IS VERY BLUFFY/SPEWY PREFLOP-> we continue with most top pairs and second pairs vs barrels and play for stacks.

Playing Flop OOP as Caller
PLAY TIGHTER OOP
CHECKING OFTEN-> POT CONTROL
QUESTION TO ALWAYS ASK:
1) WHO OPENED? THEIR RANGE?
2) WHO CALLED? THEIR RANGES?
3) EFFECTIVE STACKSIZES
4) WHERE ARE THE WEAK PLAYERS?
5) HOW STRONG IS MY RANGE ON FLOP?
6) PLAN AHEAD FOR ALL POSSIBLE TURNS
-check/raising flop-> have plans for the turn
FACING A BET
1) What is their realistic range and board texture?
vs strong range: we continue with strong range -> rarely check/raise as a bluff
-eg. UTG+2 cbet on [KQ5]
-be very cautious and tight, we can check/raise strong hands and get paid off very often
vs wider range: we continue wider with value and bluffs
-eg. BTN cbet [J72] rainbow
-we defend very wide and check/raise wide (gutshots and BDs)
vs aggro barrelers we can check/call strong value hands
When both ranges are wide...
If opponent bets polarized (bluffs and good value)
-we check/call a lot with value and showdown hands + check raise occasionally with bluffs
If opponent bets depolarized (full range)
-check/raise lots of good/medium value hands and draws
If opponent bet linear range (only very strong value)
-check/call very good value often, fold weak value and check/call draws
-we do not bluff at all
2) What are the tendencies of bettor vs check/raise?
-tight? (we check/call more with value and check/raise with draws)
-strong? (we check/raise with good value and check/call with draws)
3) What are the barreling tendencies of bettor?
-bluff/barrel alot? (we all more with strong value)
-shuts down often? (we check/raise with good value and check/call with draws)
HAND STRENGTHS
-usually check/calling with 1 pairs and draws-> dont check/raise often with top pair
-check/raising 2pair+ and good draws
make sure with draws we have good fold equity and always plan for future streets
-check/folding weak pairs and weak draws
especially multiway
-check/calling strong hands on dry boards
-vs aggro opponents, we check/raise our bluffs and check/call our value
-check/raising more on wet boards with both strong value and bluffs
-check/raising more multiway with best values and strong draws
DONK BETTING
-only vs passive players on wet boards
eg. 77 on [78T] 5way
IF WE DONT HAVE MANY BLUFFS IN OUR RANGE -> DO MORE CHECK/CALLING
IF THERE ARE NO GOOD TURN/RIVER FOR US-> WE CAN FOLD FLOP
IF WE HAVE 2CARDS STRAIGHT ON FLOP-> ALWAYS RAISE
VS VERY WIDE RANGES-> WE THINK OF WHAT HANDS TO BLUFF WITH (BDs)
AT ON [T84]hh VS BAD AGGRO CBET WE SHOULD RAISE AND GET IT IN TO PROTECT OUR HAND + GET VALUE FROM WORSE HANDS
CALCULATE POT ODDS: NO. OF OUTS X 2
A7 ON [6s8s9c] -> we may think we have 8 outs
HOWEVER, any spades will be dirty therefore we only have 6 outs
ALSO, any T will give QJ the nuts therefore we have only 3 outs
QQ on [T83] vs very tight player cbet-> we only call as his range is very nutted
J9 on [TT9] with good reg cbet and passive player behind calls

IP WE CAN CONTINUE WITH WIDER RANGE
QUESTION TO ASK:

3) EFFECTIVE STACKSIZES
4) WHERE ARE THE WEAK PLAYERS?
PLAN AHEAD FOR ALL POSSIBLE TURNS
-what cards we'll be raising, what cards we'll be folding to
WHEN FACING A BET
-Question to ask:
1) WHAT IS THEIR REALISTIC RANGE?
-bluff and weak value heavy: we can call wider and raising sometimes
-strong value: we cut out weakest pairs and draws
2)WHAT ARE THEIR BARRELING FREQUENCIES?
-doesn't barrel wide? flat flop wider (draws and pairs)
-barrel wide: float less + only call decent draws and value
CAN CALL STRONG DRAWS AND VALUE HANDS (2 PAIRS+)
-dont need to raise often-> TRAP
-we can control size of pot IP
WHEN CHECKED TO
vs weak players
-bet very wide: any draws (barrels) pairs and bluffs (barrels)
-weak players' checking range usually means weak therefore we can exploit them
-sometimes check strong hands to trap
vs better players
-bet lots of draws + good value hands
-check medium strength hands
-barrel with draws
BOARD TEXTURE
WET:
1) Bet or raise with good value hands
-many bluffs in our range therefore get action straightaway
-many action killer turn and river
2) Can float/raise or bet many draws
-position advantage + can represent many hands
-check behind medium strength hands and draws vs aggro and good players
DRY:
1) Call more with strong value hands
-less bluffs and we have position therefore TRAP
2) Can float wider
-players usually cbet very wide on dry boards
3) Bet very wide when checked to
-they'll check/fold very often
-can barrel vs their capped range
4) Check behind medium strength hands vs aggro + good players
-vs weaker players we can go thinner for value
97 on [943] 6way- checked to us
-we should check behind as we only have 1 street of value and we need to pot control
-don't want to play big pot with marginal hand on an overcard turn

Playing Flop IP as PFA
DIFFERENCES TO BEING OOP
-easier to pot control and get to show down
-we can employ a mixed strategy to exploit our opponents
-when HU and we have a range advantage, we can cbet 100% our of range with small sizing
PLAYING VS DONK BETS
-often top pairs, sometimes draws
-we call hands that would've bet + mid strength checking range + draws
-raise strong value hands + best draws
THE WETTER THE BOARD + THE STICKIER OUR OPPONENT- THE MORE OFTEN WE RAISE FOR VALUE
-vs low tacks and aggro opponents on dry boards, we want to slowplay our strongest hands
-tighten up our range multiway
BLUFF RAISING (Be very careful)
-DO NOT TRY TO BLUFF PLAYERS OFF TOP PAIR
-can bluff raise more vs tiny donks
-multiway we tighten up our bluffing range A LOT- only raise our strongest draws
PLAYING VS CHECK/RAISE

-DO NOT TRY TO BLUFF PLAYERS OFF TOP PAIR
-can bluff raise more vs tiny donks
-multiway we tighten up our bluffing range A LOT- only raise our strongest draws
PLAYING VS CHECK/RAISE
vs PLAYER TYPES:
- ABC PLAYERS: have very few bluffs, mainly strong value
- we only continue with good draws + strong value hands
- TIGHT/NIT/PASSIVE: will have very strong value mainly
- we can make big folds right away often
- only continue with best draws and strongest value
- AGGRO/MANIACS: will have wide value and many bluffs
- they over-value their mid strength hands (top pair mid kicker)
- we continue with any top pair, some good second pair, any draws, strong overs with BDDs
- be prepared to call turn barrels very often
- LOOSE FISH/WHALES: over-valued hands, but not lots of bluffs
- check/raise with bad top pairs, some good draws
- we continue with top pairs, most draws
- REGULARS: mainly good value hands and strong draws
- very value heavy
- we continue with top pair, good second pair (vs aggro), most draws and overs with BDDs
POSITION
-continue tighter vs check/raise in EP- we continue with more hands vs LP check/raise
BOARD TEXTURE
Wet boards
-players will have more draws... HOWEVER
-also lots of strong value too that'll barrel often
WE CONTINUE WITH TIGHT RANGE (TOP PAIR+, STRONG DRAWS)
Dry boards
-less bluffs, more overplayed top pairs + very strong value hands
-aggro players can have very wide bluffing range-> easier to showdown with good value
WE CONTINUE WITH STRONG RANGE (TOP PAIR+, MOST DRAWS, GOOD OVERS+BDDS)
3BETTING FLOP
-on wet texture: 4bet strongest value to get stacks in
-on dry boards: call more often to TRAP
vs aggros: trap more often (STILL 3BET FLOP ON WET BOARDS)
vs tight/loose passive: 3bet strong value right away vs their strong range
vs regs: call strongest value often to TRAP and protect our calling range
multiway: 3bet strong value right away for immediate value + equity denial
Playing Flop as PFA OOP
Will aim to pot control + checking a lot
POLARIZED BETTING RANGE
-bet only strong value hands + good bluffs (top pair top kicker, FDs, OESDs)
-check mid strength hands and weak bluffs (top pair mid kicker, gutshot, A highs)
MAIN FACTORS: BET OR CHECK?
POLARIZED BETTING RANGE
-bet only strong value hands + good bluffs (top pair top kicker, FDs, OESDs)
-check mid strength hands and weak bluffs (top pair mid kicker, gutshot, A highs)
MAIN FACTORS: BET OR CHECK?
- WHAT ARE THEIR RANGES?
- vs wider range we can go thinner for value + more fold equity with bluffs (bet wider range)
- vs tight range- we have less value and less equity with bluffs (bet narrower range)
- HOW MANY STREETS OF VALUE DO I HAVE?
- if 1 or 2 max, we can start by checking the flop
- if 3 streets, we always bet to start building pot (flopped sets, overpairs, straights)
- HOW MANY OPPONENTS?
- vs multiple: polarized range
- HU: depolarized range- bet our entire range for small size
- BOARD TEXTURE
- the wetter the board, the more polarized we bet
- eg. KQ on [QJ9] 4way- we check as many stronger hands can call + hard to get 3 streets
- eg. KQ on [Q38] rainbow 4way- we can value bet
- VS WHICH PLAYER TYPE?
- vs good/tight players- we check OOP more often
- to protect our checking range
- we should include check/raise range + delayed cbet range
- vs looser/maniac
- check really strong hands sometimes to let them hang themselves
- if they're real sticky- only bet strong hands as value
- DO I NEED EQUITY PROTECTION?
- ONLY IF WE HAVE ENOUGH FOLD EQUITY
- bet low pairs (usually 8 or below)
- eg. A4s on [4T2] 3way- benefit from equity protection with fold equity
CHECK/RAISING AS PFA
-effective vs aggro/call happy players
-deny free turn cards and river equity
HAND STRENGTHS
-check/raise with: very strong value, strongest draws + sometimes weak draws/backdoors
-with medium value hands: we bet or check/call (eg. top pair midkicker, weak FD)
-do not mind getting money in on flop with strong value and best draws (sets, NFDs)
-with weaker draws, we don't mind check/raise/folding (gutshots, BDFDs, bottom pair)
-we can barrel on many turns -> give up if we don't improve
VS PLAYER TYPES
-multiway + wet boards -> mainly go for value as less fold equity
vs aggro bettors- assess tendencies
-how often do they cbet when checked to?
-the more they bet/fold-> more bluffs we can use
vs regs
-stab very wide on flop IP
-exploit them by using check/raising wide with bluffs
vs tight/loose passive players
-use almost only strong value
-bet our good hands when they're passive
WHEN FACING A RAISE OOP
On dry boards:
vs aggro players:
-call with strong hands and let them hand themselves
-never 3bet flop- keep all his bluffs in
vs tight players:
-proceed very cautiously and make some big folds right away
-re raise with our best value hands as they're rarely folding
On wet boards:
vs aggro players:
-call with medium/good value hands and call down sometimes on blank runouts
-with very good value-> we want to re-raise (if we know they'll call with worse hands)
vs tight players:
-proceed cautiously and make big folds right away
-they'll call most draws therefore- we shouldn't have any bluffs
* LEARN TO FOLD [AA]- IT IS STILL JUST 1 PAIR HAND*
-vs very passive players who raised flop-> they're only raising 2pair, sets or better therefore JUST FOLD

Intro to Postflop
OVERALL ODDS CALCULATIONS
TRY TO MEMORIZE AND LEARN THESE BASIC POT ODDS
COMBINATORICS
-1326 combos of hands
-16 combos of each unpaired hands
-4 combos of each suited hands
-6 combos of each pocket pairs
eg. [K92]- how many combination of KQ can villain have?
-3 unknown Ks and 4 Qs (3x4)= 12 combos
-if we also have a K: (2x4)= 8 combos
-9 combos of each 2 pair hands (3x3)
-3 combos of each sets-> if we have that pair = 1 combo only
-16 combos of two-cards straight (4x4) but only 4 combos if suited
EXAMPLE: Tight ABC reg raise UTG: [77+, JTs+, AJo+, ATs+]
FLOP: [Qc9s3c]- he bets half pot- we need 25% to call
-His value range: AA (6 combos) KK (6) QQ (3) AQ (12) KQs (3) 99 (3) QJs (3) QTs (3)
= 39 combos
-His bluffing range: [JTs (4) AcKc, AcJc, AcTc, KcJc, KcTc, KsTs, KsJs
= 11 combos
THAT IS 11/50 = 20% OF BLUFFS
WE NEED 25% THEREFORE WE FOLD
CBETTING
-ALWAYS THINK IN TERMS OF RANGES-> breakdown their bluff/value range
eg. villain cbets on [A58ss]- his range doesn't just have Ax
-can consist of 67s, 97s, JJ, TT, FDs, Ax and total air
REASONS TO CBET
1) FOR VALUE
2) AS A BLUFF
3) TO DENY EQUITY (PROTECTION)
4) UNIVERSAL BET
WHEN TO CBET?
-THINK: 'how many streets of value do I have?'
if 3 streets: go bet/bet/bet
if only 1 or 2: check the flop -> eg. KQ on [AK5]
-this protect our range and keep in their bluffs
SIZING THEORY
Very dry boards-> small sizings (1/4-1/2 pot) with big range
-eg. [447], [A38], [J23]
-use small sizing for both value and bluffs
Draw heavy boards -> large sizing with strong range
-eg [789], [Q9K]
Multiway-> cbet strong range (strong value and strong bluffs)
ALWAYS TRY TO PLAY EXPLOITATIVELY
eg. vs calling station- use big sizing always
CBETTING TURNS AND RIVERS
ON TURN:
-Narrower range with larger sizing
-put pressure on weaker part of his range + get value with good hands
ON RIVER:
-Go big or small depending on:
-what part of his range are we targeting?
-can we exploit him using big/small sizing?
OVERBETTING
-vs good regs-> need to be very balanced
-vs rec and loose players-> overbet mainly for value
eg. vs whale we have 33 on [AK3] -> we can overbet as they're not folding Ax
WHEN FACING OVERBET-> ASSUME IT IS VALUE
MOST PLAYERS BET BIG WITH VALUE, SMALLER WITH BLUFFS

BB Strategy
BB DEFENDS
-vs EP open, DO NOT defend with weak offsuit hands [only ATo+, KQo+] -we can add more hands if villain is weak
-defend tighter vs 4x open or multiway (DO NOT defend offsuit hands)
-ONLY DEFEND OFFSUIT BROADWAYS vs VERY WEAK OPPONENTS
3BETTING/SQUEEZING
-mostly only strong hands for value
-3bet bluff ONLY IF WE KNOW OPPONENT IS CAPABLE OF FOLDING PREFLOP- use high equity bluffs (suited broadways)
-use big sizing when 3betting OOP
-widening our value/bluff 3bet range vs later positions
-vs EP open, DO NOT defend with weak offsuit hands [only ATo+, KQo+] -we can add more hands if villain is weak

Playing vs 3Bet/4Bet
Depend on how wide they're 3betting
-When they have a nutted range, we don't defend any weak hands
Defend more when blinds 3bet- compared to UTG 3bet
-If they have a bluffing range, we should defend more
SIZING- is extremely important
-we can overfold when they 3bet very large
THINK OF VILLAIN'S 3BETTING RANGE
-defend way more suited hands
-hands like A8o we'll be dominated most of the time
-is he loose aggro? is he tight passive?
-defend according to their range
-is he loose aggro? is he tight passive?
-defend according to their range
POSITIONS
-WHEN IN POSITION:
we can defend wider range- suited connectors, offsuit broadways
-we have positional advantage and can control pot size
-Can flat monsters to trap
-WHEN OUT OF POSITION
-Defend tighter range- strongest suited connectors, strong offsuit broadways
-Almost always 4bet with monsters [AA,KK] for max value
HEADS UP OR MULTIWAY?
-HEADS UP
we can defend most offsuit broadways (when IP)
good top pair will be strong enough
defend less with baby pairs and suited connectors
-MULTIWAY
Defend less with offsuit broadways
Defend more with baby pairs, suited connectors, suited aces- implied odds
Becareful with lower SCs when pot gets huge- may get overflushed
EFFECTIVE STACKSIZE
-Shallow (20-75BB)
Defend with good offsuit broadways- hit good top pair and stack off postflop
Dont defend with low pocket pair, lower SCs- less implied odds
-Deeper stacks (75BB+)
Dont defend with offsuit broadways
Defend more with lower pocket pairs, lower SCs, suited Ax- more implied odds
4BETTING
-Who 3bet? Position? Range?
-Only 4bet for value [QQ+, AK] against most players
-IP we can flat 3bet with AK, QQ
-OOP we rather 4bet
-Multiway vs squeeze we should 4bet to prevent good odds to villain to flat
What to do when villain 3bet a ton?
-Call lighter as we need less equity to call
-Increase our 4bet range only a bit
-Can open raise a bit tighter to be able to call most hands to a 3-bet
POLARIZED 4BET RANGE
-eg. KK,AA and A2s-A5s to balance
UTG VS EARLY POSITION 3BET (UTG vs UTG+1, MP, CO)
-they have more nutted range -> fold suited broadways and continue with 77+, AQs and AKo
-depend on villain- if aggro we 4bet AKo. AKs but if vs nit- we only flat
-our 4bet bluff range only against aggro opponents (only suited hands)- A5s, AJs
-only flat QQ, JJ vs 3bet
-fold AQo and worse vs unknown + nits as we're often dominated
UTG VS BLINDS 3BET
-call wider-> suited broadways, suited gappers, AJs+, AKo
DEFEND TIGHTER VS EARLIER POSITION 3BET
DEFEND WIDER VS LATER POSITION 3BET- [ESPECIALLY IF WE HAVE POSITION]
HOWEVER DEPENDS ON THE PLAYER TYPE (NIT, AGGRO, MANIAC)
VS TIGHT PASSIVE PLAYER-> OVERFOLD VS 3BET
VS WEAKER OPPONENTS- WE RAISE CALL SUITED CONNECTORS AS WE HAVE AN EDGE POSTFLOP
MP/LP VS 3BET
We can defend wider vs blinds 3bet (all pocket pairs, suited aces and suited broadways)
vs earlier position 3bet, we defend tighter as their range is stronger
We can 4bet lighter vs blinds for value [TT, JJ, QQ]
We can add 4bet bluff with A2s-A5s (only suited wheels)
WHEN WE FEEL DOMINATED BY ATLEAST 1 PLAYER-> MUCK OUR HAND
UTG VS EARLY POSITION 3BET (UTG vs UTG+1, MP, CO)
-they have more nutted range -> fold suited broadways and continue with 77+, AQs and AKo

Flatcalling
QUESTIONS BEFORE ANY ACTION PREFLOP...
- WHO RAISED?
- Exploitative approach
- vs nits: we play tighter range
- vs loose players: we play wider range
- WHO IS BEHIND?
- Tight players behind:
- we play more hands as we will have position postflop
- Maniac behind:
- we tighten our range
- WHO IS IN THE BLINDS?
- Fish/whale in the BB->
- we loosen up our range
- WHAT ARE THE STACKSIZES?
- We only call SCs vs big stacksizes and good top pair hands vs small stacksizes
In EP, we want very tight flat-calling range
In LP, we loosen up our flat-calling range
Hand selection:
-Pocket pairs, suited connectors and Ax suited hands
-We want to be careful with our offsuit hands as we have less implied odds
IMPLIED ODDS
-vs good players, we want high implied odds
-vs weak players, we do not need high implied odds
- Low pocket pair [22-66]
- More valuable vs strong range
- Low suited connectors
- More valuable vs strong range
- Less valuable vs weak range
- Offsuit broadways
- Less valuable vs strong range
- More valuable vs weak range
ALWAYS BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF
-ARE WE ABLE TO FOLD 2 PAIRS OR TRIPS WHEN ACTION GETS BIG?
-IF NO THEN WE SHOULD STICK TO PLAYING TIGHTER RANGES.
Isolating/Overlimping
VILLAIN'S LIMPING RANGE ARE PLAYER DEPENDENT
-loose fun player: limp very wide and raise strong hands-> discount big hands from his limping range
-good regular: limp small PP, small AXs, SCs
ISOLATING RULES:
-Add 1 BB for every limper
-Use every live reads we have: villain limp fold often: iso wider
-Bigger raise size vs fish for max value and to get the pot HU
-Always iso-raise tighter than our RFI range (Iso 1 position tighter range)
-vs many limpers-> we iso-raise tighter [88+, QTs+, KTs+, A9s+, ATo+]
OPEN-LIMPING RULES:
-ONLY on weak tables: open limp weak pocket pairs, suited Ax and suited connectors from EP
OVERLIMPING RULES:
-Do not limp weak offsuit hands or weak flush hands [A2o, 32s]
-Limp offsuit broadways, suited Ax and suited connectors
SB ISO-RAISING RANGE
-Very tight range as we're OOP [88+, AJo+, ATs+]
-We overlimp most of our range vs other limpers.
VS WEAKER OPPONENTS
-We generally want to iso-raise wider to get HU- but still not too wide
-vs tight players behind we want to iso-raise wider especially if there is a fish or a whale in the BB
-See if there's any fold equity by iso-raising vs many limpers-> if there isnt any , we rather overlimp.

Opening Ranges Approach
PLAY A TIGHT/AGGRESSIVE STYLE
BEFORE OPENING ANY HAND (VERY IMPORTANT!!!):
BEFORE OPENING ANY HAND (VERY IMPORTANT!!!):
- ALWAYS identify player types/positions/stacksizes- make this into a habit
- Where are the weak players?
- Who is in the blinds? If fish- open more hands
- Who is in LP? Looser player behind- tighten our range
AGAINST DIFFERENT STACKSIZES
-tighten up vs smaller stacksizes- play hands that will make good top pair hands [KQ, AJ, TT]
-tighten up vs smaller stacksizes- play hands that will make good top pair hands [KQ, AJ, TT]
-vs big effective stacks- play hands that makes strong 5 cards hands [A5s ,44, 67s]
SIZING
-open 3-5x standard- adjust to table sizes
-use bigger size in EP and smaller size in LP
EXPLOITATIVE SIZING
-where are the fish?
-where are the fish?
-eg. we open AA to 8x when fish is in the BB
